Effective 7 August 2026. Please read this policy with your school’s own internal policies and applicable law.
Our commitment
Skooltime is designed to support fair, lawful, transparent and secure handling of school information. We apply privacy-by-design controls and expect every tenant to use the platform in a way that protects children, parents, teachers and staff.
Security safeguards
We use role-based access, tenant separation, password protection, session controls, transport protection where configured, audit-oriented records and controlled operational access. No system is risk-free; tenants should report suspected exposure immediately.
Children and sensitive information
Education data requires special care. Schools must have a valid lawful basis and appropriate notices or consents where required, limit access to authorised personnel, and avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields or public communications.
Rights requests and incidents
Individuals may ask their school about access, correction, restriction, deletion or objection. Skooltime will assist tenants with verified requests within its role. Suspected personal-data incidents should be reported promptly through Support with the affected school, timeframe and nature of the incident.
Nigeria framework
This policy is intended to support obligations under applicable Nigerian data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. It is an operational policy, not a substitute for tenant-specific legal advice or a required data-processing agreement.
Review
We review technical and organisational safeguards as the platform evolves. Material policy updates will be published here with an updated effective date.
